Are There Any Good Family Movies…

I Mean Really Good Movies…

Our family loves family nights and we especially love it when we find a great family movie to watch on family night.

We don’t watch a lot of mainstream movies. We have been lucky lately with a few oldies.

Last night we found a good Christian family movie. But first we had a nice lunch – amazing red beans and rice.

It was supposed to be dinner the day before, but we had a mid-week celebration (from my post on Thursday) which threw our dinner week plans off. I knew we might have a fun Friday dinner, so I decided to slow cook the red beans Thursday night into Friday morning. It was a glorious time waking up on Friday morning to the smell of red beans. For lunch I made Jasmine rice to go with it, and this was a major lunch hit!

We also had left over Mississippi mud pie

my daughter Gabi made on Thursday and caramel brownies she made Friday afternoon.

We did have a fun Friday dinner and we found a good family movie to watch.

The movie is called Family Camp. This is a new movie which came out this year. It is about a family new to the faith who decides to go to their church camp to grow closer to God and to each other. They share camp space with a family who appears to have the perfect Christian marriage, have perfect children and are ultra-spiritual. For example, this “perfect” Christian family only eats food Jesus would eat. (Smile) The movie has a lot of laugh out loud moments as the families compete for a camp prize. There are also great learning moments to ponder about faith and family. There are a few name calling words, but it’s very minimal. More than anything it is a safe enjoyable family movie.

Movies can be a lot of fun and it is always great when we find a movie we can watch without muting half the content or our children covering their eyes.

We ended our Friday fun night with a family game.

Learning can be done on a Saturday too. Cook something fun – (science) and watch a good movie as a family and then (learn) each other’s perspective on the movie.

It’s Saturday so I hope you will enjoy your family tonight and maybe watch a nice movie together and grow closer to each other and God. Family Camp is a fun movie. We found it on Amazon Prime. We hope you enjoy it.
