For the next several posts we will spend some time praying for our homeschool year. It is so very important that we spend time praying for our children for their homeschool journey.
Many times, we dive in headfirst with excitement only to be discouraged three weeks into the school year. Often, we burn out quickly because we haven’t brought God into our homeschool journey.
The best way to ensure you have an amazing school year is to bring God into it. Be sure to pray on a regular basis for your homeschool year.
With the weight on your child’s education squarely on your shoulders, there is no way you can take on the full burden by yourself. You need Jesus Christ.
You need His wisdom.
Only He can guide your steps.
As I type this post 12 boxes of Abeka curriculum arrived at our home today with another round of boxes arriving soon. This is the curriculum choice for our children this school year. Is Abeka the best choice for your children?
Only God has that answer.
The first prayer we will begin with is praying for your child’s curriculum. I have seen so many parents choose curriculum for their child based on what others say. (Ummm…including myself which ended bad for our children). We have done co-ops and tutorials and bought curriculum based on what someone else has said and spent no time seeing what God says. No wonder we had so many hiccups along the way!
Obviously positive reviews are great and go a long way, but the bottom line is, God knows exactly what your child needs.
So yes, take advice but do not neglect praying and asking God to help you with the final decision for your child’s curriculum.

My Lord, when others try to persuade us otherwise with their choices, help us to remember that we have heard directly from you for____________,for this school year. Luke 11:28
