Hopeful Homeschooling

Trusting God To Guide Your Decisions

by: Saleama A. Ruvalcaba

Just last week I wrote a post in which I shared some of the homeschooling issues for our family this new school year.

The other night I was wide awake talking with God asking for His guidance to get back on track. I could see my children’s entire homeschool life flash before my eyes.

I felt hopeless.

I could not sleep.

As home educators, we must remind ourselves that not only does God care about the needs of the parent, He also cares about the needs of your children.

He cares about their education.

He cares about their well-being.

Me and Omar prayed and asked God to guide us. We asked God to help us make the right decision for them. We reminded God that our earthly children are His children and we know He cares about their future.

Within a day we had a new direction. We had peace and favor in our new direction.

We are so excited about the next step!

Omar said he’s “stoked” about their future.

By nature we have a desire to figure life out on our own. Oh, but what toil we bring into our lives by not taking our cares to Jesus Christ.

If you’re feeling discouraged today in your homeschool journey, here are a few of God’s promises for you and your spouse to pray through:

Never forget – God is faithful!

2: Thessalonians 2: 16-17 “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope,17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.”

Psalm 10:17 “You hear, O LORD, the desires of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you will listen to their cry.”

Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Psalm 55:22 “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.”
